"I am interested in how subversive activity, such as rubber burning, and rev ving engines can be seen as social devices/tools within some aspects of North American culture. These machines, along with the demonstrations I perform focus on the activity as being a cultural byproduct and above all a type of celebration. I am also interested in the ideas surrounding gender construction and masculinity." Steven Laurie
